Our goal at Finca El Faro is to loose the least amount of topsoil possible, therefore; allowing coffee shrubs to flourish in fertile soil. We strongly believe that there is a direct relation between soil fertility and cup quality.
Strong emphasis is placed in enhancing soil structure and fertility in order to produce excellent cup qualities.
Land management practices include:
- Prohibition of the employment of herbicides
- Introduction of vegetative barriers
- Construction of water attraction and retention tanks
- Shade trees
- Level and contour curves
