Second Washing

Once the coffee beans has been washed and separated from the wastewater, the beans proceed to the final grading process. In this stage coffee beans pass through a sorting pipe and subsequently through concrete channels of laminate flow. In both the sorting pipe and the concrete channels, high density coffee beans are separated from low density beans. Water flow and gravity are responsible for such separation.

Six thousand liters of clean water are used in this process on a daily basis. In this process water is re-circulated, yet nor recycled. According to the results of water analysis, for which testing is regularly performed, this water may return to the any water source; as the same is not contaminated during the process, and meets the requirements to be returned to the water-bearing strata.

However, we have the infrastructure to avoid doing such a thing, and water is introduced to the same water treatment process previously mentioned.
