Arriving at El Faro
In the year 1998, the Porras Family acquired Finca el Faro, and embarked in the quest of cultivating coffee.
El Faro was a project of complete renovation. Coffee plantations, the infrastructure and the existing human resource were completely abandoned.
We embarked in a ten year plan in which we would renovate the existing plantations, activate new areas that had not yet been planted, and transform
the human resource and infrastructure into a model to be followed.
Our goal was to aim for long term sustainability, and we decided to invest in what we like to call an “all-encompassing quality” quality that takes into consideration the environment in which coffee is cultivated, the well being of every one involved, the quality of its processes, and of course the supreme quality of the end product.
