Coca-Cola Years
Previous to coffee, the Porras family had bottled Coca-Cola in Guatemala for the Coca-Cola Company. It was during the Coca-Cola years that we learned to produce quality; quality that we intended to introduce to the coffee agro industry. It is important to take into consideration the fact that for many years we had been accustomed to work under a framework that demanded the highest standards of quality.
Bottling Coca-Cola for the Coca-Cola Company taught us the essence of quality; not only the quality of the end product, but also the quality of the processes by which such a product is produced, the quality of the people involved in its production, and the quality of the surrounding environment in which it is produced.
At El Faro, we intended to imitate what we had learned in Coca-Cola.
