Hiring Practices and Employment Policies
Finca El Faro is convinced that people are the most valuable asset in the production of coffee, and should be treated, respected and taken care accordingly. Finca El Faro employs workers and services in conformity to local laws and applicable international conventions related to workers rights and benefits; all of which are in a process of continual improvement overtime. All salaries and benefits which employees receive meet the minimum required by law.
However, it should be noted that in many cases salaries and benefits exceed the minimum imposed. An Internal Code of Labor, approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Prevision, is the instrument by which both employers and employees guarantee their own rights, understand their responsibilities, and acknowledge their obligations.
Furthermore, workers rights to organize and negotiate freely with their employers are guaranteed in accordance with local laws and international obligations. Our goal is to guarantee employees a dignified job; through just and equitable practices of hiring and employment.
